No, only public posts can be downloaded. Instagram restricts access to private accounts to approved followers only. Our tool cannot access private account content because the underlying video files require authentication that only the account owner has.

We support Instagram Reels and regular video posts from public accounts. Stories are not currently supported — they use a separate API that requires account authentication. Photo posts and image-only carousels are also not downloadable since this is a video downloader.

Stories are not currently supported. Instagram's Stories content requires account-level authentication to access, even for public profiles. The underlying API does not allow unauthenticated access to Stories content.

We download the best quality available from Instagram's CDN — typically 1080p for Reels. Older video posts may be lower resolution if that's what was originally uploaded. Instagram applies its own compression during upload, so quality depends on the original source.
